The Cottage Cure

A journey from house to home

Kitchen progress

A bit more progress. I really like the way this has turned out. The fretwork doors look weird in the photo, and they also need some more work as they have grown during the painting progress and no longer close…

The chairs to the right are the Ikea Arvinn folding chairs I have had my eye on. I got four secondhand ones for the price of one new one. They will be painted eventually. Perhaps aubergine?

The final bits of plastering will be done next week, so progress should be a bit more swift after that.

This is looking great! I would love to see the chairs in a dark eggplant that plays off of the color of the cabinetry in that corner, but when I get too much color going in one place I start to worry about all my table linens etc. needing to coordinate with everything else. So there is a part of me that would just want to see the chairs in a nice glossy white. But anyways, I love the color you ended up with for the cabinets and this whole place is going to look amazing!

Are you still around? Haven’t seen you on AT in a while, I hope that means you’re getting lots done and enjoying your nice new kitchen! Will you be doing the next Cure? Or have you moved on from renovating and hence the lack of posts here? If so I will stop bugging you but I hope all is well for you.

Hi Anne. Yes, I’m still around, but the kitchen work is going very slowly. I’ve had a busy and rainy summer and haven’t made an awful lot of progress. However, I’ve been working hard all day and should have something to post in the next couple of days! Hope you’re going to join the fall cure - me and my kitchen will be there!
